For the client who appreciates a garment made in America, John H. Daniel offers three distinct grades of tailoring to fit every client’s needs.
Part of the beauty of becoming a John H. Daniel retailer is the enormous flexibility and variety of custom garments we tailor. There is no other shop in the world that offers the range of styling and tailoring depth that is found in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Under the direction of Master Tailor Angelo Falco, a native of Rome, Italy, John H. Daniel produces three distinct grades of garments. From an opening price point made-to-measure suit to our Sovereign bench made suit, we enable you, the retailer, to offer a fit, style and quality for virtually every taste level.
One of the benefits you enjoy is the a la carte menu John H. Daniel offers on every garment. Unlike most manufacturers who pair limited styling options with each grade of tailoring, John H. Daniel offers you the freedom to choose from all options for all grades of tailoring. Any garment can be dressed up or dressed down depending on your client’s taste and budget.
The Baron Grade
The Baron Grade of tailoring is a John H. Daniel hallmark. The industry standard for made-to-measure, the Baron Grade is the leader in fused technology. Utilizing exclusive woven fusibles from Freudenberg of Germany, the Baron Grade is the best value in tailored clothing today.
Soft Fused Construction
John H. Daniel helped pioneer soft fused technology. Light, lofty, and buttery to the hand, John H. Daniel’s new soft fused Baron jackets are a marvel to your clients. Specifically designed for use on lightweight finer cloths, our soft fused construction gives both stability and a soft gentle roll to the lapel.
Each Baron Grade garment is individually designed on our custom CAD system for each client. The Baron is computer cut and machine sewn to your specifications. Hailed as one of the best buys in the industry, the Baron Grade is a tremendous value for your retail mix.
The Monarch Grade
The finest in canvas fronts, combined with advanced pattern and cutting technology makes the Monarch Grade an excellent bridge garment. Computer cut and featuring our extraordinary canvas fronts, this garment fits the bill for the client who demands a quality garment, but still wants value and performance.
Several Monarch Features:
- Canvas front construction
- Hand-basted collar
- Hand-finished armholes
- Hand-finished sleeve linings
- Deluxe sweat shields
- Full lining and card pocket standard
- Special two-piece waistband with hand-pleated curtain
- Woven Silesia inside fly for stability
- Heel guards for extra wear on cuffs
- Grip pads inside waistband
The Sovereign Grade
When only the best will do – experience the Sovereign Grade from John H. Daniel. Individually cut and sewn by only a handful of master tailors, the Sovereign garment is a work of art unto itself. All interlinings, canvas, and buttons are imported directly from Italy. Our exclusive imported goat hair canvas creates a soft drape and molds to your client’s body the longer it is worn.
All shoulders are draped by hand on individual bucks prior to sewing to ensure a true custom fit. Hand-crafted armholes, combined with a true leaf-turned collar creates a fit only found in hand tailoring.
Each jacket also comes lavishly appointed with additional hand work including the lapel hole with its own boutonniere loop – a detail rarely found outside the Italian Peninsula.
Experience the Sovereign for yourself – you’ll be glad you did.
Arietta Jacket Construction
While not a ‘Grade of Tailoring’, the Arietta jacket falls into its own unique category of construction. The Arietta Construction is simply the lightest tailoring available with a fully-tailored look. While available in all fabrics we only offer it in the Baron Grade, fused-coat front. It features:
- Unconstructed shoulder with no shoulder pads
- Half back lining
- Book-folded inside seams
The RIO Black Label
For the client who has more of a global view of the world we offer the Rio Black Label. The RIO Black Label has the same construction components and process as our American-made Baron Construction but is assembled in our sister shops in Central and South America.
You choose from the same John H. Daniel fabric and lining books, styles, options and extras. (We regret due to customs restraints we do not offer Cut, Make and Trim (CMT) in your fabric in the RIO make.) The order is submitted on a RIO order form OR on the easy to use RIO on-line order form. The fabric is cut in our shops in Knoxville using the same models, features and extras. The order is then shipped to our sister shops in Central and South America for assembly. The turnaround time is only increased by a few working days, typically ½ week. The garment is then shipped back to Knoxville for pressing, buttons, buttonholes, and final inspection before shipping to you. The benefit to you is with reduced cost of assembly, we can offer you free functional buttonholes, fancy lining and pic stitching, a substantial savings in wholesale cost.
No matter your needs, our diverse tailoring options offer you and your clients many choices in quality, custom tailored garments.
